community workshops and events
We love going out on the road with the studio and meeting new audiences. We have set-up our stall at Elderflower Fields, Firle Garden Show and KILN exhibiting work and running activities for children and adults.
We take part in several arts events each year including the Crafts Council's Hey Clay festival of making, Coastal Currents, Artwave and Eastbourne Open Houses. We work in collaboration with arts and community groups and run workshops in tandem with museums, galleries and schools.
Please get in contact if you would like us to take part in your event or devise any workshops for you.
Diversity and inclusion
Eastbourne Studio Pottery is committed to inclusion, diversity and equality in governance and in all our activities, recognising that diversity fuels creativity and innovation. We are dedicated to learning and continually evolving our understanding and work on inclusion.
Art materials for our community groups
We really missed running our special community classes during lockdown. We work with lots of local groups including the wonderful people from Eastbourne Mencap and the Rough Sleepers Initiative.
We put together 50 boxes packed with art and pottery supplies so that the people we support could still explore and develop their creativity while the pottery studio was closed for classes and workshops.
We have now been able to welcome back the wonderful group of potters from The Hive for their regular Friday afternoons in the studio. We're very excited to be working with them to develop their pieces for an exhibition that will showcases all their talents in February 2021 at the new Volt Gallery and Project Space.
