We are delighted to welcome Elaine Bolt to the studio this March to share her practice and lead a two day workshop where we will be hand building ceramic artefacts and creating wall pieces with ceramics and found objects On day one Elaine will talk about her practice and demonstrate how she uses a range of clays to make delicate utensils and objects informed by the woods and shoreline of Sussex, you will then spend the day making several pieces with porcelain, black stoneware and rich red terracotta. You will learn how to colour clay and use this in your work On day two Elaine will show you how to select, arrange and fix your work onto panels to create wall hung compositions, we will look at various backing materials and options for framing Elaine Bolt is a ceramic artist working with clay and mixed media, creating works and compositions guided by a sense of narrative and steeped in the context of the local landscape. Her work includes sculptural work, hand-built wall pieces and thrown vessels, made in porcelain, stoneware and mixed-media £150 for two days including all ceramic materials and firing, plus tea, coffee and biscuits all day
We are not able to offer full refunds unless the workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 10 or more days before the session. If you need to cancel your workshop or taster session, please get in touch, we might be able to book you on an alternative date. If your booking is cancelled less than 10 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund if we can fill your space with another student. If you need to cancel a booking for a block of classes, notice must be given 10 or more days before the start of the block to receive a full refund. We are unable to offer alternative dates for the beginners classes if you miss a session as they follow a set structure.
