Monday morning general class

About this class

This block of six, three-hour classes is suitable for anyone who has completed at least one block of our beginner's classes or has some experience of hand-building and/or throwing. You will be fully supported by the tutor to realise your ideas in clay, develop your skills and explore new techniques. Our general classes have a lovely mix of students, some have been coming for years and others for just a few months. All the studios are fully accessible with level access. We have a fantastic range of tools, equipment, and materials at the studio, with plenty of space to hand-build on our huge workbenches. If you want to focus on throwing, we have four Shimpo wheels in the main studio, five electric wheels in the members room, a magnificent Leach design kickwheel and eight electric wheels in the throwing studio. We also have a Cowley slab roller and two Roderfeld extruders. All materials are included in the class fee but there is a small charge per kilo of finished work for firing. We fire to earthenware and stoneware and have a beautiful range of glazes for each temperature.

Cancellation Policy

We are not able to offer full refunds unless the class, workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 14 or more days before the session. If you need to cancel your class, workshop or taster session, please get in touch, we might be able to book you on an alternative date. If your booking is cancelled less than 14 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund, less 25 % administration fee, if we can fill your space with another student. We are unable to offer alternative dates for the beginners classes if you miss a session as they follow a set structure.
