Throwing intensive for all levels

About this class
A full day of throwing suitable for all levels from beginners to those who want to improve their skills. We have two tutors with 10 students so you will have lots of support and guidance whether you are taking your first steps on the wheel or you want to throw shapes that are more refined, increase your scale or throw with greater efficiency. Although you will create several pieces during the day, the emphasis is on developing your skills and assessing your work - which pieces to keep and which pieces to send to the reclaim pile. So much can be learnt from slicing your pieces in half to see how you are pulling up the clay. Firing and glazing up to four pieces of work in our standard taster glazes is included in the fee, extra pieces will be charged at £5.50 per kilo. If you would like to come back to the studio for an extra 3 hour workshop to turn your work before firing (finishing the bases when the clay has dried to the leather hard stage) we can book this session with you separately, at an extra fee of £32. This session would also give you time to plan your glazing using a more varied selection from the studio samples. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included but please bring a packed lunch.
We are not able to offer full refunds unless the class, workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 14 or more days before the session. If you need to cancel your class, workshop or taster session, please get in touch, we might be able to book you on an alternative date. If your booking is cancelled less than 14 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund, less 25 % administration fee, if we can fill your space with another student. We are unable to offer alternative dates for the beginners classes if you miss a session as they follow a set structure.
