About this class
A class that focuses on the hand building techniques and explores a wide variety of surface decoration for Thursday mornings from 10.00 to 1.00. This class is suitable for anyone who has completed our general beginners class or who has some experience of working with clay. You will be fully supported by the tutor to realise your ideas in clay, develop your skills and explore new techniques with surface decoration. We have a fantastic range of tools, equipment, and materials at the studio, with plenty of space to hand-build on our huge workbenches. We have a Cowley slab roller and two Roderfeld extruders. All materials are included in the class fee but there is a small charge per kilo of finished work for firing. We fire to earthenware and stoneware and have a beautiful range of glazes for each temperature. We keep the classes small so that we can tailor our teaching to your needs. All materials are included in the class fee and there is a small additional charge for firing by weight of finished work per kilo. All you need to bring with you is an apron and a notebook. All the studios are fully accessible with level access.
Cancellation Policy
We are not able to offer full refunds unless the class, workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 14 or more days before the session. If you need to cancel your class, workshop or taster session, please get in touch, we might be able to book you on an alternative date. If your booking is cancelled less than 14 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund, less 25 % administration fee, if we can fill your space with another student. We are unable to offer alternative dates for the beginners classes if you miss a session as they follow a set structure.
