Louisa Taylor workshop

When you are learning to throw on the wheel it's often the smaller details and the finishing touches that make so much difference to the piece. Galleys, rims, lids, spouts and handles are tricky to master but so important if you want your work to function beautifully. Louisa's workshop focused on perfecting the finishing touches but also introduced the students to loads of clever tricks to improve their throwing. Before the workshop Louisa was super generous sharing her knowledge of glazes during our morning of glaze analysis, rethinking the colours and finishes we have on offer here at the studio. Louisa's new book Glazes for the Contemporary Maker will be published on the 24th of July - we can't wait, we've pre-ordered our copy for the studio!
