Join Lewes based ceramic artist Louise Bell to make a hand-built ceramic animal sculpture with a rich multi-layered surface. Louise’s ‘Ancient Toys’ project includes a wide variety of pull along animals on wheels, inspired by folk art and antique toys. Louise will demonstrate the modelling techniques that she uses to make and decorate her animals. The students will, with guidance, design the piece that they want to make and combine the techniques demonstrated to make the form from earthenware clay. The finished pieces with be decorated with slips and Louise will demonstrate how to etch textures through the slip into the clay. Louise completed her Masters in Craft at Brighton University in 2017 and has exhibited at Collect with Design Nation, at Ceramic Art London, the International Ceramics Festival in Wales and recently with Future Icons Selects in London This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with more experience. £130 including all materials and refreshments, please bring your own lunch Firing charge for finished work £10 per kilo








Cancellation Policy
We are not able to offer full refunds unless the class, workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 14 or more days before the session. If you need to cancel your class, workshop or taster session, please get in touch, we might be able to book you on an alternative date. If your booking is cancelled less than 14 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund, less 25 % administration fee, if we can fill your space with another student. We are unable to offer alternative dates for the beginners classes if you miss a session as they follow a set structure.
