About this class
Create beautiful and unique patterns using coloured porcelain clay, with ceramicist Susana Garcia Flores Nerikomi is a Japanese ceramic technique that layers coloured clay to create a myriad of designs from simple stripes or dots, to intricate and complex patterns. In this four hour introduction to the technique we will be mixing ceramic stains with porcelain to create a range of colours ready to cut and assemble into a patterned block. Rolling out the block reveals the patterned slab from which we'll make small items, for example ring dishes, coasters or jewellery. Your work will be fired and finished with either a transparent gloss or matt glaze, ready to collect from the studio 3 to 4 weeks after the workshop. This workshop is open to all abilities and no previous experience of working with clay is required. Please bring an apron with you.
Cancellation Policy
We are not able to offer full refunds unless the class, workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 14 or more days before the session. If you need to cancel your class, workshop or taster session, please get in touch, we might be able to book you on an alternative date. If your booking is cancelled less than 14 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund, less 25 % administration fee, if we can fill your space with another student. We are unable to offer alternative dates for the beginners classes if you miss a session as they follow a set structure.
