With a background in sculpture and photography, I use clay in an experimental way. I'm not a pure ceramicist, for me clay is simply another material that might feel right when I'm in the process of making work.

I enjoy it's malleability and potential fragility.

I'm fascinated by the alchemy of combining raw ingredients and how our history on earth is so intrinsically linked to how we have used this 'earth' both for functional necessity and economic or cultural power.

I'm a co-founder and director of the studio. As well as teaching on the general ceramics classes, I lead the community engagement projects, children's classes and artist in residence programme.

As well as my own art practice, I teach neurodiverse young people and adults. I also sit on the board of Devonshire Collective CIC, an arts umbrella organisation that includes  Volt Gallery & Project Space, Makerspace and DC Learn.
