Weekly class fees include tuition, materials and refreshments but do not include firing costs. These are subject to an extra charge by weight of finished work. For online bookings your deposit or payment in full is taken at the time of booking. For payments at the studio we accept debit cards, cash or BACS.

Missed classes
If you miss a session in a multi-week course we will do our best to place you in another class to make up your session. However, we cannot guarantee this. Please note that missed classes cannot be carried over to the following term. We are unable to offer alternative dates for our beginners classes if you miss a session, as they follow a set structure. We do not offer refunds or credits for the missed hours.
Cancellations
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made at least 14 days prior to the class start date will receive a full refund or credit. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the class are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless we are able to fill your seat from a waiting list. We may then be able to offer you an alternative date or a refund, less 25% to cover our administration fees.
We reserve the right to cancel a class, workshop or course up to and including the date of the class, workshop or course if insufficient bookings have been received, but will strive to give as much notice of this as possible.
Individuals booked onto a cancelled class, workshop or course will be given the option of a full refund or of rescheduling to a future class, workshop or course date.
Arriving at the studio
To help us manage studio capacity, finish cleaning between sessions, and ensure instructors are fully prepared to
welcome you, we request that you arrive no more than 5 minutes before the start time of your class, workshop or course. We may be having a meeting between classes and we might not have a suitable space for you to wait.
Children and safeguarding
All our staff hold full, current DBS certificates. For your child's safety when they attend the studio we ensure that at least two members of staff are on duty during each session. Parents or legal guardians are requested to complete a consent form when their child attends the studio for the first time. We ask that all the information provided on the form is kept updated. Parents or named legal guardians must sign children in and out at the start and end of their class. Children must be picked up promptly at the scheduled class end time.
General safety and dress code
To maintain a clean, well maintained and organised working environment, please follow all safety briefings regarding sharp tools, equipment, hazardous substances, clay dust and clean-up protocols. Before using the pottery wheels, long hair should be tied back, and loose jewellery or clothing must be secured. Working with clay, oxides and glaze materials can be messy, we advise that you wear clothes that you don't mind getting marked or stained and wear a full length apron.
Conduct and exclusion
All participants must treat tutors, staff, and fellow students with respect. Bullying, harassment, or abusive language will result in immediate removal from the class, workshop or course. Intoxication is strictly prohibited. If staff suspect an adult participant is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, they will be refused entry or asked to leave immediately. Children are expected to follow guidelines, share tools, and treat others with kindness. If a child repeatedly refuses to follow safety rules, we will issue a warning, notify the guardian, and reserve the right to remove the child from the course without a refund. We reserve the right to exclude any offending individual from the studio at any time if their behaviour, in our opinion, is deemed dangerous, inappropriate or causes (or has the potential to cause) offence, harm or injury. Refunds will not be offered under these circumstances. Participants (or parents/guardians, in the case of minors) are financially responsible for any malicious, reckless, or negligent damage caused to studio equipment, kilns, wheels, or the premises.
Firing, breakages, and technical failures
Inherent Risks: Ceramics involve high-temperature kiln firings where technical failures, cracking, exploding, warping, or glazing anomalies can, although rarely, occur. While we exercise the utmost care, we are not liable for accidental damage to your work during standard drying and firing processes. We ask that finished pieces are collected within 30 days of us notifying you that they are ready. After this period, unclaimed items may be recycled, donated, or disposed of after this due to limited studio shelf space. We happy to keep pieces for a little longer in safe storage if you let us know before the 30 day period when you will be able to collect your work. If you attend a class, workshop or course from further afield it might be possible to send your work to you for an extra postage and package cost. Unfortunately due to the fragile nature of ceramics, we cannot accept any responsibility for damage in transit.
Images for promotional purposes
We always ask for your permission before taking any photos or videos in our classes, workshop or courses. With your permission these images might be used for our social media, website or other promotional content. We will never take or publish photographs or videos identifiable of a child without explicit, written consent from a parent or guardian on our consent form. We will never publish a child's full name, age, or sensitive personal information alongside any photograph or video. To protect privacy, participants and visitors are strictly prohibited from filming or photographing other students (especially minors) during classes. You are welcome to take photos of your own artwork or your own child.
Limitation of liability
Personal Property: We are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings brought into the studio, including clothing stained by clay or glaze.
Personal Injury: By booking a class, you acknowledge the minor physical risks involved in pottery (e.g., using sharp tools, operating heavy equipment, handling potentially hazardous substances). We hold no liability for injuries.
Data Protection: Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will use the information to process your booking, to provide the class, workshop or course and to inform you about similar classes, workshops or courses which we provide, unless you tell us that you do not want to receive this information.
