New course:
Ceramic Art & Design

Course overview
Develop your ceramic practice on this new part-time, skills-based course, with a strong emphasis on creative exploration and research. Delivered over 24 weeks, workshops will take place on Fridays from 10.00 to 17.00.

Working across hand-building, throwing and casting, you'll investigate form, surface and context through a series of tutor-led projects and self-directed research. You'll be encouraged to experiment, question and test ideas, using making as a way of exploring materials, processes and concepts.

As the course progresses, you'll develop a thoughtful and distinctive body of ceramic work that reflects your own interests, influences and creative direction.

Who is the course aimed at
& do I need any experience of working with clay
The course is suitable for artists, designers and creative practitioners from all disciplines hoping to build a portfolio of work in clay and existing potters ready to develop their practice within a structured programme.

If you are joining from another discipline, no previous experience of ceramics is required, each week our group of expert tutors will lead technical workshops covering a wide range of ceramic processes. We'll be on hand to provide practical support to help you bring your ideas to life.

How do I join the course
The cohort of students is limited to a maximum of 10 to ensure all participants receive a high level of tutor support. To join this course, please email the studio to book a date for an informal interview where you will be able to share your current work, have a tour of the studio, and ask questions.
