We look at a variety of methods to build with soft and leather hard slabs and practice how to combine slabs with thrown and extruded elements

Planning: Design with collage, paper manipulation and print

We will create a series of abstract forms with paper that will be used to inform your pieces in clay

Glaze theory

Presentation: What is a glaze? 

Where do the materials come from? What role does each material play?

Practical: We will explore the key ingredients used in stoneware glazes to gain a theoretical understanding of their basic chemistry, and how they can influence the surface, texture, and colour of a glaze
