The artists pulled and manipulated long necked thrown bottles to create these lovely birds that are so full of character! Coloured slips were painted and splashed onto the greeware clay before bisque firing and glaze firing. The birds each have a centre hole in the base, so as well as looking good simply standing on a flat surface they can also be raised on a metal rod or cane. They are fired to earthenware so not frost proof if they are going outside.
The sale of ceramics made by the Hive group of neurodiverse artists will support the activities of Eastbourne Mencap.
