Tanya Gomez throw and join large vessels

We are thrilled to welcome back Tanya Gomez to the studio in June for an intensive two-day advanced throwing workshop creating large scale thrown work. Tanya will be sharing her practice and guiding you step by step through the process of preparing the clay, throwing tall, throwing wide, making a joining slurry and assembling the individual forms. We will be throwing several pieces from 2.5kg to 4kg to construct the various component parts. It is an energetic course and you will need to know how to centre a piece of clay approx 750g. Tanya Gomez is a celebrated ceramicist renowned for her porcelain vessels in her signature lustrous colours. With an MA in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art, Tanya’s process is practice led, she uses dynamic throwing, cutting and assembling techniques to create large cylindrical shapes. Impactful both individually and as a group, her vessels create expressive, vivid landscapes and fluid, architectural forms. Tanya’s contemporary and original work is recognised by the Arts Council and Craft Council of England. She has gained much acclaim exhibiting internationally and continues to evolve her style, experimenting and pushing her practice and the boundaries of her craft. Her recent collaboration at Versailles https://www.tgceramics.co.uk/apres was absolutely stunning. £160 including all ceramic materials, plus tea, coffee and biscuits all day. Bisque and glaze firings will be charged per kg of selected work.

Cancellation Policy

We are not able to offer full refunds unless the class, workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 14 or more days before the session. If you need to cancel your class, workshop or taster session, please get in touch, we might be able to book you on an alternative date. If your booking is cancelled less than 14 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund, less 25 % administration fee, if we can fill your space with another student. We are unable to offer alternative dates for the beginners classes if you miss a session as they follow a set structure.
