We really enjoyed taking part in the Towner's first dedicated fair showcasing the work of ceramicists. It was wonderful to meet many of the talented makers that we have long followed on Instagram and see their work in the flesh. On our stand we were celebrating the latest collection of work made by the Hive artists, inspired by summer picnics, flowers and fruit, the group made a beautiful range of serving bowls and tiles. Funds raised from the sale of the Hive work supports the work of Eastbourne Mencap.
We also launched a special small batch collection of tableware designed and made by the studio, the sale of this work supports our programme of workshops for vulnerable people. This collection of stoneware beakers, bowls and plates is softly decorated with slip, mocha and splashes of colour inspired by summer breakfasts in the garden.
